Kwata Essimu is an Airtel campaign that aims to avail customers the opportunity to own a smartphone through device financing. Customers who use the Kwata Essimu service will be able to pay for the device(s) overtime and own selected brands and models of brands such as TECNO, Samsung, Nokia, Infinix or Itel depending on the models available by the vendor at the time of purchase.

FAQ’s

 A customer can visit select Airtel Service centers and ask to purchase a smartphone through installments.

Some of the select Service centers include Kingdom Kampala, Forest Mall, Acacia, Ntinda , Wampewo , Bugolobi, Ben Kiwanuka, Thobani center, Nansana, New Park Service center, Mbarara, Jinja, Gulu, Hoima, Busia, Luweero, Bugiri, Mbale, Masaka , Tororo, Lukaya. These will be updated from time to time.

A customer can also acquire a smartphone from the Kwata Essimu partners’ selling outlets and service centers

• No, only the select brands of smartphones be acquired through device financing. Currently these are Tecno, Itel, Infinix , Samsung and Nokia.

• Yes, a customer is required to deposit an initial payment, thereafter, start making daily, weekly and monthly installments.

• The initial installment fee may vary from model to model but is most commonly 30% of the device price.

 

• After making initial deposit, customer chooses preferred payment plan eg. daily, weekly or monthly.

• Customer dials USSD code *100*2*8#, selects option 1 and makes payment as per guidance from where the smartphone was acquired.

 

• One must have a valid National ID

• One must have the initial deposit

 

• The customer’s smartphone will get locked by the device financier and the only way to unlock it is through making the payment according to the payment plan.

• No, you don’t need to change your Sim Number.
